We're Hoping Today is the Day!
We are waiting for a call from the doctor right now. We are to the end of the count...5 days have passed since her heart rate dropped below 60 and we are praying that she didn't have any episodes overnight so that we don't have to start the count over.

Kaycee's first time feeding Brooklyn.
Time to burp.

Do I look full?

Still Waiting
It was a huge disappoinment, but Brooklyn was not able to come home today. She had another heart rate drop below 60 which is an automatic 5 day detention. Thankfully she always resolves these on her own without any intervention from the nurses. Now we are looking at Monday the 26th for her to come home. We are anxiously waiting for the day that we can be together as a family at home.

Our Little Doll
Brooklyn continues to do well and we are still hopeful that she might get to come home on Friday. I was able to go up to the hospital this morning and spend a couple of hours with her. I just sit in the recliner, stare at her, and thank the Lord for the miracle that he gave to us. It is so hard to only see her every couple of days for only 2 or 3 hours. I can't wait to be able to hold her whenever I want for as long as I want.
I love the double chin. This girl is growing!

Not Yet
Our baby girl didn't get to come home today. The doctor called this morning and said that she had 5 heart rate drops in the past 24 hours. She resolved them all on her own but that is an automatic 5 day detention for her. This is all a maturity issue and there is still a possiblity that she'll be home for Christmas. However, she did pass her second car seat check and she's been eating really good. Tonight, she drank her entire bottle for me, all 2 ounces. And my little munchkin weighs 6 pounds 7 ounces already!

Waiting to Hear
It is possible that Brooklyn may come home today. She failed her first carseat study and hasn't been eating quite as well as the doctor would like to see. There is 70% chance that it may work out. I just want her good and ready, even if it means a couple more days in the NICU. I am waiting for the doctor's call to hear the results of her second carseat study that they did last night and how much she gained/lost yesterday. Those two things will determine if she will come home today.

Packin' On the Pounds
Check out the double chin on this little girl! She gained 110 grams yesterday, bringing her weight to 5 pounds 12 ounces.

I was able to spend 3 hours with her this afternoon, probably the most I've been able to be up there in a day.

Bath day today! She loves her swaddle baths.

Way to go Brooklyn! She drank almost all of her 52 ml's for me.

She is three weeks old today. Time is flying by way too quickly. The doctor is hopeful that she will be able to come home in about 5 days!!!!

Our New Baby Girl
And nearly three weeks later, I have some pictures for you! Our little Brooklyn Noelle entered the world at 32 weeks on 11/23/11 weighing 4 lbs 13 oz. She is such a little miracle and we praise the Lord for her good health.
I drove myself to the hospital early Sunday morning on 11/20 because I knew I was in pre-term labor. I was nearly sick to my stomach to think that this was happening AGAIN! I was so hopeful that the weekly progesterone injections they had me on to keep me from going into pre-term labor would keep this baby in. Kaycee got the kids packed up and took them to his parents. In the mean-time, my mom came to be with me. The nurses immediately started fluids and gave me a series of shots to try to stop the labor. After this proved to be unsuccessful in stopping the labor, they began the magnesium sulfate. I spent 2 days on the miserable and no-fun magnesium and thankfully they were able to get the 2 steroid injections in to help develop baby's lungs.
On the evening of the 22nd, Kaycee stayed with me until 9 in the evening or so and then went home to try to get a good night's rest. My OB doctor was hopeful that I would get to go home on bed rest the following day. However around 2 in the morning, I started feeling some major contractions again. This time, they were not going to be too aggressive in stopping the labor. This baby was on her way. I called Kaycee and told him to come right away. My labor progressed quickly and all went incredibly well. At 4:50 am, we were surprised by a beautiful little girl. For the fourth time, we had no clue if we were having a boy or girl...best surprise ever!

Carson's first time visiting Brooklyn.

Kylie and Carson's 2nd time meeting their baby sister. Austin isn't allowed in the NICU to see her because he isn't potty trained yet. It will be very interesting when she comes home and he meets her for the first time. Oh boy.

First picture I could get with her eyes open.

Kylie prayed every night of my entire pregnancy for a baby sister. The Lord most definitely answered her prayers!

Don't you love Brooklyn's smile too?

Oh how Kylie is in heaven :)
