Happenings Around Here

So far, one of the highlights of our summer has been a visit to the Durham Museum, thanks to my mom. Carson was very intrigued with these statues.
This was hilarious...he was completely in his own little world .

My boy who still LOVES trains.

Ky and Grandma.

Austin loved watching the model trains.

My mom treated us to ice cream and candy at the old soda fountain store. Yum!

I took the girls to the splash pad one afternoon. We were planning to go to the pool but then found out they weren't open yet.

A visit to the park...

It seems like much of our summer has consisted of watching storms come in. This was early one morning.

I love mornings with my kids. They are so much fun because they are so fresh.

Breakfast on the counter.

And, we love mid-morning coffee breaks!

and playing Candyland.

The shed is coming along. Kaycee has been so swamped with work, it is moving a little more slowly than we'd like.

And soon to come...pictures from Carson's 8th birthday!

Randomness for a Friday

Here's just a short random post of happenings around here...

Mosquito season is here, unfortunately. I sprayed this boy down good, but he must have been so sweet they still ate him up.
Check out what the heat and humidity does for this girl's locks! We're growing her hair out and she always tells me she wants hair like Rapunzel's. I get enough complaints about all the tangles and knots now--I can't imagine getting through hair much longer than this.

Basking in the sunshine! This boy knows how to kick those feet up!

I made him move to a shady area so he wouldn't burn. This was a HOT HOT day. And check out those hee-haws (overalls). When Kaycee was little, that's what they called them. His mom made him wear hee-haws and he hated them for some reason. Austin doesn't seem to mind yet :)

We have a summer project in the works...a garden shed! Neither my husband or I have ever been a big fan of sheds that junk up backyards, but this one is not going to look junky. Just wait. A little dormer at the top, a little porch. You're starting to get the picture.

I just had to get the kids out of the house--it was one of those days. So, we made a quick run for some of McDonalds new Frozen Strawberry Lemonades. We sat in the van and sipped our ice-cold treats. Extremely tart, but good.

Carson has been obsessed with the Google guitar these past couple days! I've been letting him play with my supervision. If I didn't watch him, he'd be reprogramming my entire computer. This boy loves buttons!

Happy weekend! Hope yours is a great one!

More from Pa's and Ma's

Getting back to our Memorial Day weekend...we spent Monday out at Opa and Oma's. Kaycee and my nephew Caleb worked on Opa's retaining wall. This is quite the wall they are working on, as you will see in future pictures.
The tractor had to make trips down by the garden to get loads of retaining block and who do you think got to ride along? Yep, these three.

Clara looks taller in these pictures, but they are actually the same exact height!

Lots and lots of hard work!

The little girls love to be read to.

Looks like someone else needed a little rest.

Watching Oma get lunch ready.

My little snacker.

The Boeker's dog, Jo-Jo. Austin loves Jo-Jo!

Time for a little spray bottle fun. Gotta keep cool on this warm day.

Carson and Kylie loved feeding the baby goats up at Uncle Nathan and Aunt Julie's.

Their chickens are really growing!

The view from N & J's deck. Isn't it beautiful?

My nephew Anthony loves toads. Isn't he adorable?

Caleb helped him catch a duck to hold :) He brought it inside to show his Mom :)

We sure love this place!
